Surprise Topic Sunday!

After spending an entire day trying to figure out what on earth I was going to write about for today's post... I flopped on my bed after an NCIS-a-thon with my parents and saw the Cthulhu plushie my boyfriend gave me a few weeks ago.  That's right.  Today's post is going to be dedicated to the glory of Cthulhu.

You should definitely listen to this song as you read this post.
It will explain everything in a very amusing way.  ;)

For those of you who do not know about Cthulhu (shame on you, go read some HP Lovecraft!), he is this awesome destructive god who likes to om nom nom on worlds and destroy them.  Because that's what all the coolest fictional gods do.

There are a number of different thoughts about what exactly Cthulhu looks like... but he's always this giant abomination with tentacles on his face and usually has wings and lives in a sunken city.

My plushie looks very similar to this.  And I have the coolest boyfriend in the multiverse.

And yes, I do think that Cthulhu would make a better president than anyone who's running this year.  Not that I have a huge problem with President Obama... I just think it'd be fun to watch the world be eaten by a giant tentacle monster.  And to be completely honest, while Romney (along with Paul) was one of my top choices for a Republican candidate this fall, I still don't actually like him.  He was just a little less terrifying than some of the other choices.

But let's not get into a huge political debate... the election isn't for a few more months, and as much as I'd love to see the United States government be controlled by evil gods... it's not going to happen.  At least not this year.

I was first introduced to Cthulhu by my father, who told me about a joke he saw online somewhere (which I won't even try to tell you because I don't remember it well enough).  It takes some religious figures like Jesus and Buddha, and then at the end it says Cthulhu thinks you'd make a tasty sandwich.  I then looked into it a little more and quickly became obsessed interested.

But not to the point where I've joined a cult or anything.  Nope.

And this explains one of the reasons I'm not in a cult:

Disclaimer: this blog post was not an attempt to spread the word of Cthulhu and to seek converts for my any cults out there.

'Ello!

My name is Kaelyn, and I love this crazy world I live in.

So, here's the plan:

Sunday: surprise topic
Monday: literature
Tuesday: general post
Wednesday: serious topic
Thursday: general post
Friday: film
Saturday: general post

Surprise topic posts can be about anything--I may write about something totally unexpected, spew music recommendations, post writing I've done, hand someone my blog and let them write... it'll be a little surprise every Sunday.

Literature posts will be things like book reviews, discussions of writers, and anything else involving literature.  Since this blog is supposed to be geared toward writing... Mondays will be 100% devoted to the subject.

General posts are posts about whatever bizarre thoughts are going through my mind on that particular day.  But don't worry.  I'll try to keep them interesting.

Serious topics will be... frankly, all over the place.  I might talk about life issues, something in the news, or ideas suggested by people who read the blog.  I can say that I'm planning on having polls for topics, because I want this day to be about things that are relevant to the people who are reading them.

Film reviews are going to be entirely too much fun.  While I was working on my Blogger profile, I realized that I had to keep going back and adding more movies to my favorites.  Since I go to so many movies and have seen some fantastic classic and foreign films, I'm going to share my opinions and hopefully introduce people to some good ones.

This is the plan... for now.

I really want to create a blog that people will enjoy reading.  If something I've outlined above isn't too popular, something can certainly be done about that.  Talk to me.  Communicate with me.  Tell me if it's too boring, too dry, or too broad.

Also keep in mind that I'm a college student.  If I have a ginormously huge exam coming up and I need to take a day off to study, I'm going to.  My education is my priority right now.  I'm very blessed because I have a scholarship to a private college that was my first choice, and I'm not going to screw that up.  One day I'd like to earn a PhD in psychology and get some of my writing published.  I'm going to do my best to update this blog daily, but if something comes up, I reserve the right to disappear.  I'll try to give you all a heads up, though.  ;)

And somehow, all of this will be connected.
Because I believe that everything is connected.
